Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer a square foot price?

No, because each barn is unique and customized to the owners’ preference. Each job is priced individually after consultation with prospective clients.

Does my pole building have to use metal as roofing and/or siding?

No, for roofing we install metal roofing or asphalt shingles.  For siding, you can use wood, vinyl, cement siding, brick, stone, etc. or any combination of these materials.

If I want to use metal for the siding or roof of my barn, what are my color choices?

We use Central States Manufacturing, Inc. metal, which has a 40 year warranty. The color choices can be provided for you.

Which roofing material is best? Singles or metal?

Metal has been proven to have a much longer lifespan than the highest quality level of shingles.  It can also take less time to install metal roofing rather than shingles.  Metal roofing is also much lighter in weight, which lowers the cost of trusses, roof framing, and labor.

What type of stall systems do you use?

We use Heritage Equine Equipment Stall Front Systems.

Do you install automatic water systems?

We offer installation of either Nelson Automatic Waterers  or Mirafount Automatic Paddock Waterers.

Does a 12′ x 12′ horse stall actually measure 12′ x 12′ on inner dimensions?

Due to slight variations in the size of lumber and the poles being set at 12′ on center, the stall sizes usually measure about 3″ – 6″ smaller on inner dimensions.

What items in my barn will require maintenance in the future?

We recommend cleaning wash rack traps daily to extend the life of the drainage system.  We also recommend cleaning the stall fans every two months with compressed air, which will help increase the life of the fans and decrease the likelihood of electrical shortages.

Do you offer customer floor plan designs and 3D pictures?

Yes, we do.  After meeting with you to discuss your project, we will design a floor plan to scale to show you your future building and make sure you approve of the layout.  We can also turn this plan into a 3D picture for you to view, and this illustration works for most HOA construction approval applications.  The cost for these items is $25 per 1000 square feet for the floor plan and an additional $25 per 1000 square feet for a 3D drawing.  (For example, if you have a 3000 square feet barn, the plans would be $75 and the 3D drawing would be an additional $75).  If you decide to use Elite Construction to complete your project, the fees for the drawings will be waived.
